WHY I LOVE MY CATS

HOW THEY CAPTURED MY HEART:

Ever since I can remember, I have had at least one fluffy feline in my life.

In the beginning I don't know where my parents found these gorgeous kitties.

But as I grew up, all I know is that I can't live without them anymore.

You may ask me what it is about them that I love so much?

At first, I couldn't really think of a definitive answer, but as I look at them, I remembered all the cute things that they do. Not only are they cute, but they are also great companions if you don't want to drag an animal on a leash and run around at a park.

They are very self-sufficient in the independent department.

But also, very cuddly when they need and want your love. They can get so clingy they curl up under your neck when you lay on the couch to read a book.

WHAT ABOUT EACH INDIVIDUAL KITTY?

Jokes aside, the best part about them when you have more than one is that you start to see their amazing little personalities. And how temperamental they can be, one minute they can be sleeping practically on top of each other, the next minute they are trying to gauge out each other's eyes. But the most surprising thing is to see how well they get along with dogs. That really shocked me. As long as the dog isn't a Great Dane, you're fine. And when you have more than one you never get bored or lonely. One of them will always be around.

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS THEY DO:

When you start to notice all the playful things they do it can take a lot of your time.

Pay attention to when you drop or put any kind of empty plastic or polyethylene bag on the floor, they will either jump into it, hide under it, or sleep on top of it.

I have no idea what their fascination with bags are in general.

The same with cardboard boxes. That is the funniest thing to watch.

And also, the laundry basket, even if you have clean or dirty clothes in it. Basically, anything that you move into their space, they will claim it as theirs.

That's what makes them fun little creatures.

WHO ELSE LOVES CATS LIKE I DO?

I'm not one to care what people think or say about me, but I have seen the way people look at me when I talk about my kitties like they are my babies.

I've heard some other people say they prefer animals to humans, but I wouldn't go that far. What I would say is that I wish that animals could talk. That would be next level.

Naming cats is becoming more difficult each time as I've already given the best ones away. Matching a cat/ animal to their optimal name is a challenge and if you get it right is so satisfying. Am I the only one who loves cats and animals this much?

I don't think so. I just think a lot of people just won't amit to it.

WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY ABOUT THE BEAUTIFULNESS OF CATS?

I'm sure I've said it all, but I will repeat it many times in my life, I think everyone should have any kind of animal in their life if they can. You will never regret it and if you have kids, it will be the best thing for them in so many ways, not just for learning to look after something other than themselves, but for the love they give and receive from them.

Without animals on this planet, I do not know how we would survive.

And those who torture, hurt or kill animals, have something missing in their brain.

I could never fathom even thinking of doing something to another living soul.

They say it says a lot about a person if they can hurt an animal, I agree.

And it's not a good thing.

HOW AND WHERE TO GET A KITTY FROM?

I have adopted kittens from the pound, rescued them from the wild, and also taken or given to me by friends whose cat had too many in a litter. There are so many ways to get one, but if none of those are viable to you, go to the vet and they usually have young ones that are desexed and microchipped already, but you will pay a premium for them.

WHAT IS THE WORST THING ABOUT OWNING A KITTY?

When you get so attached to them and have them in your life for 10-15 years or more and then they pass away, that is the most devastating part of the whole process.

As long as they had a wonderful life with you, it was all worth it. You may have a cat live as long as 23 years, like my sister had. It's the luck of the draw, I guess.

I'm sure I will never live without an animal or two or 30 in my life.

And I'm happy about it.
