THIS IS PART TWO IN THE SERIES:
Part one is linked here: LIFE LESSONS (bubblegumcreations1.wixsite.com)
Since I wrote the first one, I have learnt many more lessons in my life, and I'd like to share them with all of you. Since Covid hit, many things have changed in most of our lives. But this post is a general one again. And also requested.
1) EDUCATE YOURSELF DAILY:
There are so many things to learn in this life, who has time to waste?
If you love many things and can't concentrate on just one thing, then choose 2 or 3 things to learn at once, this will keep you on your toes. Shut the TV and ALL social media while you do this so you can concentrate on the task for a few hours.
And see the difference it makes to your life.
2) HAVE A MORNING ROUTINE:
Write a list for yourself of things you want to achieve every day and repeat them until they become second nature to you. These things could be:
a) Read 10 pages of a book every day.
b) Do 20 sit-ups before your coffee.
c) Take a 5 minute shower after breakfast.
d) Feed your animals.
e) Fix your bed.
f) Get your outfit together.
g) And so on...(make your own list).
3) HAVE A NIGHT ROUTINE:
Do this maybe an hour before bed each night. And try to go to bed at the same time each day so your body can rest well. Examples could be:
a) No social media an hour before bed.
b) Write your morning routine list the night before.
c) Have a shower (if you didn't in the morning, or have a second one).
d) Prepare what you will eat the next day.
e) Prepare your outfit for the next day.
f) Start winding down. Put your pj's on.
g) Get in bed and read 5 more pages of your book.
h) Or do whatever it is you like to do for the night.
4) VOLUNTEER AT A CHARITY:
Choose a charity and go thru the application process.
See if it is something you like to do. Go for 2 to 3 hours per week.
Find one near your house and enjoy helping the community.
5) LEARN TO COOK:
This is one they should teach in school, but if you are an unlucky person like me, that wasn't a choice. And neither did I have parents who had time to teach me.
Grab some fabulous cookbooks and teach yourself with recipes that inspire you.
Not only will this be the healthiest thing you'll ever do for yourself, but you will save a tone of money in the process. Pro tip: start with simple recipes.
6) NEVER GET A CREDIT CARD:
This is my best financial advice I can give to anyone. I am almost 50 and have never got a credit card in my life. My motto is: "If I can't afford it, I don't need it."
Don't ever pay for holidays, clothes, shoes, make-up or even a car on a credit card, you are completely wasting your money.
7) GO IN NATURE:
Go for walks with your bare feet in nature where there is soil or clay and walk around, This is called grounding. And everyone needs it to rechange their natural batteries.
Try it, you'll never regret it.
8) EXERCISE DAILY:
To be healthy, you need to do at least 30-45 minutes of exercise daily.
If it can be a cardio workout it would be a bonus. But if all you can muster is a walk, then do it. And if you can do it in nature, you're winning.
9) CLEAN MAKE-UP OFF AT NIGHT:
In my 20's I used to sometimes be too lazy to clean my make-up off after a big night out. I really don't think that was wise of me. Now I make sure I do before I go to bed.
I mean, who wants black eyeliner and mascara all over their white pillow or sheets?
10) IF YOU HAVE KIDS:
Please treat them with respect so they can grow up healthy with good boundaries and a great support system around them. Nuff said!
11) DECLUTTER 1-2 TIMES A YEAR:
Do the Marie Condo deep clean and declutter of your house at least twice a year so you can feel clear in your home and even clearer in your mind.
You'd never think that actual house clutter could affect your life, but it does.
12) PAMPER DAY:
It's more of a self-care day, rather than a beauty day.
The way to do it is to take one day per week/month/year to rejuvenate.
This is not just painting your nails and having a long shower, this is about doing things for yourself you normally have no time for. Like journaling, meditating, eating something luxurious, spending time on your own, planning your life goals, watching a show you love, or even take that long shower you crave.
13) GO TO THE DENTIST:
Book that appointment you keep pushing forward and just go. You should keep up with it at least twice a year. Mouth hygiene is one of the most important things to do in your life.
14) GET ROUTINE DOCTORS CHECKS:
Especially as you get older the more necessary they get.
15) GET RID OF TOXIC PEOPLE:
If you still have toxic people in your life you need to get rid of them.
If you haven't got many or any, stay as far away from them as you can, they will ruin your life. Having empathy is great until you become a doormat.
Guard yourself and live a good life.
* BONUS:
16) NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF:
"Comparing yourself to others is the thief of joy."
When I heard this quote, I had a huge lightbulb moment. I realised no matter how much I did do this, it never made my life better, actually it made it worse.
So, stop wanting to be something or someone you're not, and just be yourself, be unapologetically you!
I hope you loved this post as much as I loved writing it. This type of post is what makes my life so exciting to live, when I can give nuggets of information that I know have changed my life. And maybe it might change yours too. Style Secrets.
The End!
