WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?:
Being a maximalist is someone who has many clothes in their wardrobe, this means you have many choices for different outfits. It is the opposite of being a minimalist.
Being a maximalist doesn't necessarily make you a hoarder, but it also doesn't mean you dress well either, or that you know what you are doing.
MY THOUGHTS:
Personally, I don't know what all the fuss is about when it comes to what type of maintenance a woman or a man has, as in high or low. To be honest, I think the most important thing to look at with each and every person is their personal hygiene. A daily shower, clean clothes, brushed teeth and washed and neat hair is more important than anything else. The rest is a bonus. Fashionable clothes and fun outfits are second to the essentials. And anyways, I would rather support women and men in general than sit there and criticise each little thing unimportant thing about them, which is not the way the world is and it's so unfortunate.
So, if you're going to spend a lot of money on fashion, make sure to use some of that money to personal products. You will never lose anything and have a lot to gain.
BEING A MAXIMALIST:
The thing about being a maximalist in fashion is that you have many, many more choices of outfits to choose from on a daily basis. The bad thing is that this can be very confusing if you do not know what to do with those clothes.
If people want to call it high maintenance, so be it. I'd rather have choices, than be bored of the same outfits over and over.
The most important thing about having an abundance of clothes is to not wear them all at the same time...hahaha!
I know I feel like doing that sometimes, either because I can't make up my mind, or I just love everything I own.
I don't know, I've worked in fashion for a very long time and I keep changing my mind on what I want. So, having many choices helps me to chop and change my ideas daily. Depending on my mood. As long as I feel great in my outfit, nothing else really matters.
CONCLUSION:
Some people say that being a well organised maximalist is a hoarder, but I completely disagree. You can be a minimalist in many areas of your life except for in your wardrobe, and that's ok. It's your own choice and no-one else's to make. What I don't agree with is having ten of everything and you never use them. Better to sell, donate or trash the things you never wear, so someone else can get good use out of it. Better to not have things sitting on a shelf or a hanger that will never see daylight. It is a good idea to keep rotating your wardrobe and find fun new outfits as often as you can. There is nothing worse than having a tone of clothes and wearing the same old thing for a long time.
And always shop your closet before thinking about buying something new.
Thank you for your ongoing support and I'd like to think I am giving you food for thought
about fashion and other things related to it. Please give feedback (positive or negative) whenever you feel like it as it would help me navigate to a path that suits my readers.
Otherwise, have a great day and see you on my next post. Cheers...
