WHAT IS A DRESS CODE:
A Dress code is a set of rules specifying the required manner of dress
at a particular place/venue/event
A dress code is the thing that is written on an invitation for a certain event.
It is usually written on the bottom of the invite under Dress Code.
It is usually for:
* A Wedding.
* An Engagement Party.
* Formal Events.
* Work Dress Code.
* Charity Events.
* The Theatre.
* A Dinner Party.
* A School Event (eg: Formal or Theatrical).
* University Events.
* And any other one you can think of.
WHAT TYPES OF DRESS CODES ARE THERE:
* Formal Dress.
* Semi-Formal.
* Smart Casual.
* Work Wear.
* Casual Wear.
* Club Wear.
* Beach Wear.
* BBQ Outfits.
* Fancy Dress.
* Any other.
WHAT IS ETIQUETTE:
Etiquette is the customary code of polite behaviour in society or among members of a particular profession or group.
WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THESE TWO THINGS:
Following dress codes and etiquette will make you a high value person and is the best and easiest way to level up in life. It's not just about how to eat politely, or to be polite to others, it's all about your attitude, your outfit, and the way you carry yourself.
Having an event takes so much time, money and energy, so if you go somewhere with a bad attitude, you are destroying the mood for others. Leave your problems behind for one day, it won't hurt you.
WHEN RULES ARE MEANT TO BE BROKEN:
As someone who isn't very conservative in general this will sound very contradictory, but it is true. It's best to stick to dress codes and etiquette when you go to any event.
Don't be the person that rocks up to a wedding in thongs or a tight black leather dress.
Even if you go over to friends' house, you should always have respect for the host, and take a small eatable gift, even if they asked you not to. It's polite.
WHICH ETIQETTE RULES TO FOLLOW:
* WEDDING: Never wear white or beige, only the bride should.
Especially if you are the Mother-of-the-bride or the Mother-in-law.
Unless the invite specifies Black & White dress code.
* FUNERAL: You should wear all black and it should cover most of your body.
No sexy tight black dresses should be worn, make sure what you wear is conservative and respectful. Cover shoulders and knees.
* BAPTISM: Cover up but be stylish about it. You can wear trendy outfits here in your own style but make sure you also cover up your shoulders, and knees. Especially if it is in a church.
* ENGAGEMENT PARTY: Also cover up shoulders and knees but have fun with your outfit. Choose fun colours, even florals. Try to stay away from black. Leave black for a funeral.
* CLUBBING: This one is where you can go all out and wear your sexiest outfits, your most outrageous and fun clothes. Go for it. Unless otherwise specified.
* OTHER PLACES: Always listen to what the dress code is and follow as such.
TIP: Think about others and be aware of how your actions affect those around you. When you respect yourself and others, you are on the right path.
If you want to be revered in life, you need to sometimes stick to the rules.
