THIS IS MY OWN SKETCH JOURNEY:
I have never shared my own sketch designs with you, until now.
As I've mentioned before, I discovered my gift at the age of 12. Even though no one, not one single person in my whole entire huge family on both my mother or fathers sides know how to draw. I had never seen any tutorials, artists, teachers, videos or any real person draw, it just came totally naturally to me. And I loved it.
And to be honest, I haven't stopped drawing since then.
And for those who don't already know, I did go to Fashion College and also worked as a head designer in boutiques. It was one of the best times of my life. I was in my element.
I'll show you here my process from idea, to design, to final drawing with digital help.
To start any project you need a theme, this series was all about futuristic attire.
I first look for inspiration images I will put at the bottom of this post.
You start off with something called rough drawings where you quickly jot down your initial ideas to get them out of your head (hint, they can be as rough as you want):
Then you need to choose one that will be the focal design for your final design:
The next step is to go to the point of giving more details in your design:
This is the final stage where you take the previous drawing, take a photo of it or scan it and send it to Photoshop to add the background to make it pop:
The inspiration images I used for this series are:
These are just one way of working, there are many others and you need to find your own. But you'll need to experiment to get the one you love.
TIP: If you really want to draw in your own style go to art classes for different types of techniques, tools and materials. And always doodle ideas whenever you have an idea, no matter how silly it feels like.
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
These are my original drawings, you will need permission to use them, contact via email.
Hope you enjoyed this process and see you on the next one.
