WHY IS SELF CARE SO IMPORTANT?
Self-care is one of the most important parts of grooming and it is the
pinnacle of high value people. It makes you feel and look your
best at all times. And it all starts from the inside.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO GREAT SELF-CARE?
These things need to be done on the regular or it won't work for you.
Maintenance is better than an overhaul. Maintenance means you do
these things every day/week/month/year, to keep up with your appearance
and so, it becomes the norm for you, not the exception.
WHAT IS THE LIST OF THINGS YOU NEED TO DO?
I'll break them up in daily, weekly, monthly and yearly things you need to do
to make your life easier and to remember:
DAILY - morning shower, night shower (or both).
- brushing teeth 2-3 times a day.
- clean clothes daily.
- washing your face with or without cleanser.

- 2L of water (minimum) per day.
- sleep 8 hours per night.

- shave legs and armpits, (and the face for men).
- choose your outfit of the day.
- reset your house, put everything away at night.
- look after your children.
- you MUST take make-up off each night before bed.
- sleep on a Mulberry Silk pillow (to protect your hair from breakage
and wrinkles on your face).
- steam or iron your clothes each night before bed.

- clean your leather shoes.
- sort out your handbag.
MONTHLY - cut and paint toenails.
- pay all of your bills.
- learn something new.
- declutter your home, donate or sell things.
- find new ways to wear the clothes you already own.
- read a book.
YEARLY - go to the Dentist twice a year (every 6 months).
- get a haircut at least twice a year if you have long hair,
and more often if you have short hair.
- dye your hair, roots or grey hair when needed.
- go on a holiday or weekends away.
- service your car every 6 months/rego/pink slip.

WHY BOTHER WITH SELF-CARE?
Self-care shows that you value yourself enough to take care of
yourself on a daily basis. Looking effortless takes a lot of effort.
Looking sloppy takes the same amount of effort. So, you choose.
You are going to get dressed every day anyway, so why not present
yourself in the best manner possible.
WHAT DOES SELF-CARE HAVE TO DO WITH MY OUTFITS?
Great question. It has everything to do with it. If your outfit is fresh,
new and presentable but you look sloppy, then you look very
confusing to the eye. You will have less confidence, and be
too self-aware of your faults rather than the good.
You may look in the mirror and not like what you see.

WHAT IF I'M TOO TIRED TO DO SELF-CARE DAILY?
As long as you can get back to it the next day then you should be ok.
Once you start to neglect your routines and stop looking after yourself
you may find it harder to get back into it the longer you leave it.
Make sure on the days you do have energy, to steam all of your
washed clothes ready to be worn the next time you need them.
If something takes 1-5 minutes to do, just do the damn thing!!
Your future self will thank you, for example if you wash your
dishes with every use, they will not pile up and make your house
look neater and it'll surprise you. And you will have clean mugs
for your next tea. Sounds simple, but not easy to get out of
the lazy habit of leaving things for later. Once you start doing
this it will be addictive and you'll want to keep doing it
without forcing yourself.
