HOW MANY CLOTHES DO WE REALLY WEAR? :
The idea is to go into your existing closet and start using the clothes you haven't ever worn or in a long time. This phrase 'shop your closet' came about when I was looking up the statistics of how much we really utilise our clothes and to what percentage. They say we use 20% of our clothes 80% of the time. We want to make sure that percentage rate goes up to 100% of usage or there is no point of purchasing clothes that will just sit there in our closets. So, no need to buy anything new for now.
HOW TO SHOP MY CLOSET :
This exercise is going to take some physical energy. You literally need to go into your wardrobe and go thru each piece, this is presuming you have already gone thru the Conmarie declutter phase from the first post. You are now left with the clothes that you enjoy owning. So, now you need to separate all your clothes into categories, tops, pants, skirts, dresses, jumpers, singlets, jackets, coats, and all your accessories. In each category you will need to separate them further, into two groups of the things you actually wear, to the ones you never have or rarely have. This is where the wheel rack I have spoken about in my previous post, comes in handy. So that you can put the clothes you have never worn onto the rack. And challenge yourself to wear only those clothes for a week and see how you go. I do this often when I get bored or stuck with the same things over and over. We all get comfortable or easily get in a rut. But, by exploring what you already have, it will give all your clothes a chance of life.
HOW TO MAKE AN OUTFIT :
This is the most fun way to build an outfit in layers.
Start from the basics, a top and a pant. A dress or a skirt.

THE NEXT STEP:
Then, you add the shoes, the bag (that's if you have more than one), a belt, a hat, a scarf or a jacket and jewellery, then the hair and make-up.
If you own things that you haven't worn yet, you could try them out or pass them along. But the best way to use all the clothes you own is to wear them. It's that simple.
Mix and match, try them out.

TIP: Before buying anything new, look in your wardrobe to see what you already own and try to use that first.
