WHY FRINGING IS BACK IN FASHION:

I have never spoken about fringing before only because it is something I am not personally keen on but felt I needed to add it to the collection of choices one can make.

I'm not totally opposed to it but find it hard to maintain it once worn

more than once. It also reminds me of the 90's where it was really over worn and

overdone, and I think once you get over something it is really hard to

get back into it when it isn't fresh anymore.

Needless to say, it is back, and the cycle of fashion always returns but with a twist.

For those who have not worn it before it can be so fun and unique.

Try it and enjoy it.

WHAT TYPES OF FRINGING ARE THERE?

There are many types, and they come in the form of leather, cotton, silk, rope and any other material it can be made from. There are thick, thin, long, short fringes.

They come in all sorts of colours, depending on the garment, usually the same colour as the garment for a more cohesive look.

WHAT CAN IT BE ON?

You can find fringing on dresses, skirts, leather or pleather jackets, tops, bras, bags, shoes, pants, shorts, shirts, hats, and pretty much anything you can wear.

IS IT A FAD?

Yes and no, and it may not stick around for a long time, but it can be something to add to your repertoire for a season. Fringing is mostly known for the cowboy/cowgirl look, it is very specific and can look kitschy if not done right. The most common look is the romantic floral dress with a suede jacket with fringe and cowboy boots.

WHAT IS THE MODERN WAY TO WEAR IT?

WILL YOU INVEST IN THIS TREND OR NOT?

For me this season I will give it a miss but maybe down the track I may change my mind.
