FASHION FOR MEN

BY REQUEST FROM A FRIEND: HOW TO DRESS A MAN:

Men and women have similar ways to work out how to dress their body. The things to look out for are:

1) Your height - how tall or short you are.

2) Your frame - slimline or with some extra weight.

3) Your body type - athletic, non-athletic.

4) Your style - modern, boho, gothic, preppy, or any other style.

5) Your skin and hair colours - Brown, Blonde, Strawberry Blonde, etc.

6) Your age - young, middle age, older, etc.

7) The brands that suit you and you can afford.

8) Are you a minimalist or maximalist?

9) Where you frequent - at the yacht club, clubs, pubs, parks, anywhere.

10) And, your confidence.

AFTER YOU HAVE WORKED OUT THE ABOVE POINTS:

The best thing to do, and to me is the most important part, to a well rounded wardrobe for a man is to find your own style. This will help you find all the outfits you will ever need and make sure they are all matching but not matchy-matchy. It's great to cross over your casual clothes with more dressy clothes so you can get more wears from your clothes. If you want to change your whole look, the best way to do it to transition slowly with a few new pieces at a time. It is very possible to have a whole new look if you are committed to it and doing a lot of research on the look you want.

They have great tips and tricks to dress well.

WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR?:

1) Personal hygiene - Always wash yourself every day.

2) Eat Healthy - Eat fresh fruit and vegetables. No packet foods.

3) Have a fresh hair cut - this makes the biggest difference to your face.

4) Find you scent - a good cologne to suit your style. And always wear deo.

5) Accessories - wear a watch and sunglasses. A belt and/or a hat.

6) Trim or shave the beard.

7) Go to the gym - at least twice a week.

8) Always wear clean clothes, wash them every time you wear you clothes, except for your jeans that can last for quite a few wears without a wash.

9) Quality of clothes - not necessarily expensive, just buy natural fibres such as cotton, wool and linen.

10) To wear a man-bag or not? It is very normal in Europe. You decide.

11) Make sure your clothes fit you well, not more than one size larger, but not too tight. Get them fitted if needed.

12) Wear clean shoes. Always look after your shoes, paint leather shoes or wash canvas shoes. Don't wear thongs anywhere but at the beach or pools.

13) If white clothes are yellowed over time, replace them.

14) Have some staple outfits you are known for, like a denim or leather jacket.

15) Cut your toe nails and finger nails.

16) Dress for the occasion. Work, outings, weddings, at home, anywhere else.

17) Carry a good wallet.

18) Smile. Brush your teeth and tongue.

19) Be kind to everyone. Be natural.

20) Have good manners.

SOME TRENDY IDEAS TO WEAR:

Everything I have talked about in this post are the very basics for any man to look after himself. For more info, do your search on your own style. These are also only a few of the styles I recommend. Keep looking on Pinterest and Google for what you like:

Try something new and get out of your comfort zone to see if it's something you might like.

What's the worst thing that can happen?

Clothes are the thing that express how you feel inside, so try to make the most of your outfits.

But don't over do it.

TIP: Look at what others wear and then try it out for yourself, but mostly look out for people with your same body type (your height, frame and colours).
