WHAT ARE BANGS?
Bangs are a slang term for fringe, on the head.
They frame the face and can be beautiful if you have straight hair or at least straighten the fringe and have a wavy hair style. It looks great for short, medium and long hair.
I have loved them my whole life, but I go thru phases of cutting a fringe and then growing it out. It really all depends on the mood. You can also have different lengths of bangs, and they can all look great if you pair them with your wardrobe.

WHAT TYPE OF BAGS SUIT EACH FACE?

CURLY BANGS:
In my opinion bangs do not look good on really curly hair that cannot be straightened or straight-ish. It is a particular look that needs to be straight and silky, I'm not sure what it is that this needs to be a requirement, but it just is. As I did my research and found images of curly bangs, I have changed my mind, when done well can look amazing!

ASYMETRIC BANGS:
These are reserved for the really brave and stylish woman who can pull off a look that need a lot of maintenance and the right look. It is edgy and if paired with bright colours such as blue, pink, purple, green, can look amazing. Or if there are two tones in the hair, or a skunk pattern. There are so many things you can do with a fringe if you have time and energy to keep it up.

BANGS, BANGS, BANGS...ALL TYPES OF BANGS:
Once I went down the rabbit hole of bangs, I discovered many more types of bangs even I had no idea about and I must say I was pleasantly surprised.

WILL YOU GET BANGS OR NOT...AND WHY NOT?
The only drawback to having a fringe is that it is really difficult to trim yourself, especially if you want it to be straight. And it is not worth going to the hairdresser once a month to get it done, unless you have plenty of time on your hands for that type of thing. And if your hair grows really fast, like mine, you will be at the hairdresser more often than you'd like. On the other hand, in my opinion it is the most stylish thing to have on your head, it looks so beautiful even if you have bedhead.
Growing it out is also a bit of a pain but you can experiment with different styles while it grows out. For me, I'd love to have a fringe all the time but find it hard to maintain,
especially with curly hair that is bleached. Heat is NOT recommended on bleached hair.

HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR BANGS ONCE YOU GET THEM CUT:
This is the tricky part if you have curly hair and want to straighten your fringe, you will have to touch them up with a GHD wand for a few minutes every morning before you leave your home. As long as there isn't too much humidity you should be good to go for the whole day without having to re-touch it again until the next morning.
It you have naturally straight hair you just need to brush it.
As for the length, if your hair grows really fast like mine, then you will need to trim it every 4 weeks to keep it looking fresh. If you can manage to trim it yourself, you will save a lot of money and time going to the hairdresser every time. But trimming it straight is super hard on your own hair, maybe watch some YouTube videos to learn how to do it yourself. And if you dye your hair, you will need to do it every time you trim it. No-one said looking good was easy, but you can make it fun.
So, did you enjoy a post about bangs or not? Hair is such an important part of your look and honestly when you look after your hair it will look after you too. Hair is so fun,
and when you have long hair, you have so many more options and styles to choose from, all you need is a bit of time to play around with it to discover what you like. And even if your fringe is an epic failure, it will grow out, and lesson learnt for next time.
See you on the next one...cheers! The Style Secrets.
