IS QUALITY IMPORTANT? :
Yes, absolutely. You don't always have to pay a huge amount to get good quality as long as the fabrics you buy are natural. Natural fibres breath better and are better for your skin, especially if you are allergic to synthetic materials. The best thing to do is to always have the most natural fibres touch your skin, if your coat or any other layer after the first one is synthetic, it won't matter as much. It is the first layer that touches your skin that needs to be of good quality natural material to breathe and let you sweat.
WHAT TYPES OF FIBRES ARE AVAILABLE?
There are quite a few materials available in the market, they are:
1) Cotton - comes from the cotton flower.
2) Wool - comes from sheep fleece called roving.
3) Linen - comes from the flax plant.
4) Silk - comes from silk worms.
5) Cashmere - comes from goat fur.
6) Merino Wool - comes from alpaca fur.
7) Jeans - comes from the cotton flowers.
8) Corduroy - made from cotton.
9) Polyester - man-made.
10) Elastane - man-made.
11) Viscose - made from cellulose, has very good quality.
12) Mohair Wool - comes from the Angora goat.
13) Angora Wool - comes from the Angora rabbit.
14) Pashmina - comes from Tibetan mountain goats.
15) Leather - cow hide, crocodile skin, snake skin and more.
16) Pleather - made from synthetic materials.
17) Velvet - is made from Cotton, Wool, Linen, Silk or Mohair.
18) Lycra - synthetic athletic fabric.
19) Cannabis fabric - from the marijuana plant.
20) Bamboo - made sustainably from the bamboo plant.
21) The Blends (are mixed) and more...
WHY SHOULD I BUY ALL NATURAL VS. SYNTHETIC:
The benefits of all natural is that they last longer, easier to take care of, and look great when worn. Some of them may need special care in the washing/drying/ironing phase, but are well worth it. Synthetics do not last as long, are very easy in the washing phase but don't look as good when worn over and over. Beside the breathability factor of natural fibres, they look expensive, even when they are not.
Beautiful linen and cotton dresses above, and very stylish synthetic dresses below.
Sometimes even I love a good dress that is available only in synthetic, but the idea is to wait to find a similar style in natural fibres, as these touch the skin.
TIP: Always look at the inside tag of a garment to see what it is made of to be sure you are buying a natural fibre garment. Sometimes synthetics look like the real deal but aren't. Do your research before purchasing.
