HOW TO DRESS WELL FOR A BUSY WEEK:

The trick is to preplan all of your outfits for a week prior to the week starting so you do not have to fret about what to wear each morning. Anxiety makes you wear things that do not feel good or look good because you are not in a calm state of mind while making difficult decisions. So, to eliminate this problem, take an hour each week to preplan your week ahead. It really is that simple, maybe not if you have a hectic life, but well worth the time you take to plan your outfits. Also, account for impromptu events popping up in your life. Maybe have a couple of extra outfits at the ready.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Where am I going? (to work, an event, interview, gathering, party, etc..)

  • What is the weather going to be like?

  • Who will I be with?

  • What type of mood am I in?

  • Is it formal or casual attire that is required?

  • Do I need to layer up?

  • Am I missing any key pieces I need to buy?

  • What colour palette am I going with?

  • Will I go modern, preppy, gothic, emo, classic, other, or a mix?

  • Can I wear similar things all week?

  • Am I going to a few different places each day?

  • What is most comfortable to wear and looks great too?

  • Can I try something new to refresh my look?

  • What accessory can I add to refresh my look?

COMING UP WITH A PLAN:

This is where you start to put your outfits together by deciding what you are going to do for the week, this is an example:

# Day 1 - Work - Monochromatic or Black.

# Day 2 - Work - Comfy Casual.

# Day 3 - Work - Comfy Smart Casual.

# Day 4 - Travel - Stretchy Comfy Casual.

# Day 5 - Errands - Jeggings with White T-shirt or Jumper.

# Day 6 - Gym - Sportswear.

# Day 7 - Day off - Tracksuit (casual lounge wear).

THIS IS WHAT THEY CAN LOOK LIKE:

Just remember, these are purely for example purposes. You may have a totally different type of week and things that go on in your life, be discerning. Write down your own week that goes on and then preplan your outfits accordingly.

This is a way to see how easy it really is to make your wardrobe work for you, declutter things that don't work for you, and donate a lot of good clothes so someone else can wear them, just coz you can't wear them doesn't mean others can't.

But the point of this post is to make sure you own all the clothes you use and need on a daily basis and stop buying things that don't serve you.

Have fun making outfits for yourself. See below.
